BTS Jimin recently surprised his fans by announcing a new solo album. Although he is currently enlisted in the South Korean military, his duties have not prevented him from pursuing his musical career.
The anticipated reunion of BTS is expected to occur in 2025, but until then, Jimin continues to captivate audiences with his solo endeavors.
Expectations for “Muse”
High Anticipation
Jimin’s upcoming album, “Muse,” is scheduled for release on July 19. The album has generated significant excitement among fans and is expected to achieve considerable commercial success.
However, the crucial question remains: can BTS Jimin become the first member of the group to break the unique chart curse that has affected their solo careers?
The Billboard 200 Challenge
Six of the seven BTS members have released solo albums, all of which have achieved notable chart success globally, including in the United States. Despite this, none of them—or any other solo artist from South Korea—has secured the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200.
Many BTS members have come close, and now, with a second opportunity, BTS Jimin might finally be the one to reach the summit.
BTS Jimin’s Chart History
Previous Achievements
Jimin’s previous solo album, “Face,” peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 in the spring of 2023. This impressive position reflects a common trend among BTS members. Fellow members Suga, V, and Jung Kook also saw their solo projects reach No. 2 on the Billboard 200 last year.
RM and J-Hope have also come close, each securing spots within the top five and achieving multiple top 10 placements.
Potential for “Muse”
“Muse” has a solid potential to debut high on the Billboard 200, but it is premature to predict its exact position. BTS Jimin faces formidable competition from other popular musical acts, including fellow South Koreans Stray Kids.
Regardless of where “Muse” lands on the charts, Jimin is a contender to watch for the No. 1 spot in late July.
