BTS’ Suga plans to serve in the military as a social service worker rather than a front-line soldier, according to local reports Tuesday.
“Asia Business Daily” quoted military sources on Tuesday as saying that Suga has been approved to work as a social worker. Suga has postponed his enlistment until next year, but he is likely to enlist after Jin.
Men with or with certain health conditions are exempt from direct service and can fulfill their mandatory service duties by working as social service workers, usually in community centers and other municipal or provincial organizations.
After news of Suga’s enlistment broke, online fans argued in comments that he should have enlisted as a social worker rather than a soldier due to previous injuries in performances and surgeries.
