The Korea Mint and Security Printing Corporation (KOMSCO) and BTS label Bit Hit Music have partnered to release the K-pop band’s official 10th-anniversary medal, and pre-orders began on Dec 16, 2022, Friday.

KOMSCO has announced this company has begun accepting pre-orders for the first edition medals, which are expected to ship in March.

There are three types of gold medals and only one type of silver medal. A total of 10,000 gold medals of 28 grams, 14 grams, and 7 grams were sold on the 10th anniversary. 77,777 14-gram silver medals will be sold honoring the seven members of the band.

Despite the hefty price tag of $3,678.84, the 28-gram gold medal was sold out at Weverse Shop, BTS’s official fan store, and generated a lot of interest. At the same time, the shipment of goods in KOMSCO’s official mall dropped sharply.

The medals for sale feature BTS’ official logo on both sides and the number 10 in the center. On both sides are 2013, when BTS debuted, and 2023, the 10th anniversary of their debut.

Engraved on the front are the English names of the members – RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook – and the group name.

To prevent counterfeiting, KOMSCO has applied special banknote anti-counterfeiting technology to the medals.

The BTS logo is used as a beautiful pattern on the medal, spreading from the center to the edge. The medal also has a mint mark to indicate where the coin was minted.

Customers can purchase medals at Korean commemorative stamp retailer Poongsan Hwadong Corp., Hyundai Department Store online store, Shinhan Bank branches, KOMSCO Mall, Weverse Shop and Gmarket Global.

Medals are valid until December 25th.
