BTS’ J-Hope will take the stage solo at the 2022 Mama Awards, producers revealed Wednesday.
Yoon Shin Hye, the executive producer of this year’s show, emphasized at the Global Media Conference that this will be the first time his solo show will be broadcast publicly. The theme of his performance is “I am your hope”.
The artist is the first member of the septet to release a solo album. His debut solo album, Jack in the Box, both peaked at No. 17 on the Billboard 200 in July, and dual lead tracks “Arson” and “More” peaked on the Hot 100 at No. 96 and No. 82, respectively. That puts him behind BTS, the fourth K-pop artist with Blackpink and group member Suga to top both charts. The album also entered the top 100 of the UK Official Albums Chart at number 67.
