BTS RM hit No. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart, a record for a K-pop solo artist.
His first solo album, Indigo, debuted on Dec. 17 at No. 15 and slipped again the following week. But physical album sales pushed it back up the charts.
He is the first member of BTS to reach the top 10 of the Billboard 200 single album and the second to reach the chart in 2022 with a solo project, following the No. 17 debut and peak of J-Hope’s Jack in the Box,” Billboard wrote. It added that BTS had seven top 10 hits, six of which reached to no. 1.
The album was released on December 2 and topped the iTunes Top Songs chart in 87 territories. It was also included in Time Magazine’s list of the best K-Pop songs and albums of 2022.
